【Chinese News USA, Washington DC】Christmas is just around the corner, while the 2018 Christmas Season is underway at the White House!

白宮門口的外牆上掛滿聖誕裝飾，節日氣氛濃烈。

During the Christmas Season, the White House is filled with holiday decorations: Christmas trees, wreaths, garland, colorful lights, gingerbread houses, and more. The exterior of the White House is covered with Christmas decorations as well, and the red and the green are spreading holiday joy.

美國白宮第一夫人梅拉妮婭以“美國寶藏”為主題，裝點白宮內外。除了大門廳的29棵小聖誕樹上則掛著14,000件紅色裝飾品外，東面柱廊上則有40棵深紅色的聖誕樹，營造出一片 “紅色聖誕樹林” ，讓白宮披上了節日的紅裝。

First Lady Melania Trump chose "American Treasures" as 2018’s theme. Besides 14,000 red ornaments hanging from 29 trees in the Grand Foyer, 40 crimson topiary trees lining the East colonnade has created a “sea of red Christmas trees”, which provides joyful red highlights in holiday decoration.

美國國家聖誕樹(National Christmas Tree Lightening)點燈儀式，於11月28日(周三)晚在白宮前的總統公園The Ellipse大草坪舉行。

The memory of the 2018 National Christmas Tree Lighting was still fresh. On Nov 28^th, it took place on the Ellipse at President's Park.

那天晚上，美國總統川普攜夫人Melania Trump與上千名觀眾一同出席，並登台祝賀大家聖誕快樂。第一夫人Melania Trump按下了聖誕樹燈光的開關，點亮了美國國家聖誕樹，正式宣布全美聖誕慶祝活動進入倒計時。總統川普向來賓與電視前的觀眾們送上聖誕快樂的祝福。

That night, President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump joined the thousands of people at the ceremony. First Lady Melania Trump had the honor to flip the switch and light the National Christmas Tree, while President Trump sent his Christmas greetings to the audience on site and those in front of the TVs.

Ms. Jing Yang, CEO of Chinese News USA, had the honor to be invited to cover 2018 National Christmas Tree Lighting, as well as be invited to the White House.

自1966年以來，白宮聖誕樹都由「全美聖誕樹大賽」的優勝者提供。今年被選中的是一株19.5英尺的弗雷澤冷杉，由來自北卡羅萊納州的Larry Smith提供。豎立在藍廳展示的白宮聖誕樹裝飾著藍色天鵝絨絲帶繡有黃金與每個州和領土的名稱。

Since 1966, the White House Christmas Tree has been provided by the winners of the "National Christmas Tree Competition". This year’s winner is a 19.5-foot Fraser Fir, from North Carolina by Mr.Larry Smith.The White House Christmas tree erected in the Blue Hall is decorated with blue velvet ribbon embroidered with gold and the name of each state and territory.
